“The Gateway of India Dialogue: Where Geopolitics Meets Business”, India’s 1st major foreign policy conference, was co-hosted by Gateway House and Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. The conference was held on June 13-14, 2016 in Mumbai and brought together a number of prominent Indian and international government officials, business leaders, think tank representatives, academicians, and media representatives. The aim was to highlight the role of economic diplomacy and corporate engagement in promoting India’s strategic and commercial interest. Issues, such as Asian integration, nuclear security, global movements of people and talent etc. were discussed in different sessions of the conference.

Mr. Syed Munir Khasru, Chairman of IPAG was invited to share his thoughts on the session on “Innovating for Asian Integration”. Mr. Khasru spoke about addressing basic social realities such as access to education and healthcare, and a change in mindset for driving Asian innovation forward. He also stressed that Asia should focus on social innovation.
