The 3rd North East Connectivity Summit was held on September 21-23, 2016 in Agartala, India organized by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) with support of the Government of Tripura. This year’s theme was Border Trade with Bangladesh, South East Asia and People to People Connectivity. Mr. Syed Munir Khasru, Chairman IPAG presented the keynote paper at the Policy Maker’s Forum for the Chief Ministers and MPs of North Eastern States of India as IPAG played the role of the Policy Research Partner of the Summit. The Summit had threadbare discussion on formulating a comprehensive connectivity road map and emphasized on the importance of active private sector participation in the growth agenda for the region. The participants highlighted the opportunities in international trade and commerce that improved connectivity will bring about especially with Bangladesh, Myanmar, and Southeast Asia.
