The China Society of Emerging Economies Annual Conference and Emerging Economies Forum 2016 was be held on November 04-06, 2016 in Guangzhou, China. The conference brought together policy makers, academics, diplomats, consulates, entrepreneurs etc. and provided a platform to discuss the global economic situation and the development of emerging economies. Some of the most prestigious institutions in China hosted the event this year while the Research & Training Institute, Boao Forum for Asia and Guangdong Maritime Silk Road Chamber of Commerce acted as a strategic partner of the event. The broad theme of the conference was divided into 5 sub-forums: (i) To Enhance Growing Potential via Innovation (ii) Construction of Open Economy through Invigoration (iii) Emerging Economies: To Promote Economic and Trade Cooperation via Interconnection (iv) To Achieve Joint Development via Inclusion (v) Emerging Economies and Global Economic Governance.
Mr. Syed Munir Khasru the Chairman of IPAG, was invited as a speaker at the Think Tank Forum to speak on ‘The role and mechanism of innovation in economic growth.’ Ms. Avia Nahreen, Research Associate of IPAG, also attended the conference as a panelist at the session ‘Cultural and educational exchange and cooperation of emerging economies.’
