In view of the four decades of friendship and cooperation between the two nations, this year China and Bangladesh celebrated the 40th year of diplomatic relations.
The Seminar on the 40-year Anniversary of the Establishment of Formal Diplomatic Relations between China and Bangladesh was co-hosted by The Institute of World Economics and Politics (IWEP), under the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and The Institute for Policy, Advocacy, and Governance (IPAG) on the 26th August, 2015 in Beijing, China. It was organized to identify the key opportunities and challenges to enhance bilateral cooperation and generate action-oriented recommendations to bolster economic, social and cultural ties.
Professor Zhang Yuyan, Director, IWEP and Dr. Zou Zhibo, Deputy Directior, IWEP of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) were present from the Chinese side and Mr. Syed Munir Khasru and his team of IPAG were representing Bangladesh.
Trade & Investment, Connectivity, Private Sector Cooperation & Strategic Partnership were the main highlights in the presentation on China-Bangladesh Bilateral Cooperation in the seminar.
Both the organizations agreed to communicate progress of the meeting with respective relevant government bodies to inform about the findings of the researchers and place the recommendations for their consideration.
