Mr. Syed Munir Khasru, Chairman, IPAG was invited to speak at the Summit where he spoke in a session that discussed the evolving role of think tanks and civil societies in a changing world with impending challenges.

The Think Tank and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) at the University of Pennsylvania, US specializes on studying the relationship between global policy institutions, civil society, and governments and it publishes the Global Think Tank Report. It has established a rigorous inclusive, objective and fair evaluation system to track and rank global think tanks, seeking a better understanding of the role think tanks play in governments and civil societies.
This year the Global Think Tank Summit 2017 was organized by TTCSP in partnership with the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) which focused on the major issues confronting Asia and the World, and identified areas for think tanks to contribute positively to their resolution.
The goal of the Summit was to develop sustainable and inclusive solutions to pertinent issues and contribute to public discourse to overcome the divisions that have opened up within and across countries. Keeping that in mind, the theme of Think Tank Summit 2017 was Achieving Balanced Growth in Asia and the World for Sustainable Development: The Role of Think Tanks.
